Marie A. Mevs

Passed away on May 6, 2021 at the age of 100 with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents, Lester M. Blaxton and Josephine Lazarine Louis, and brother, Lester Blaxton. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 72 years, Armel Mevs; children, Welhem Mevs, Philip (Tracy) Mevs, Donald Mevs, and Judith (Kevin Lyons) Mevs; nephews, Jean Claude (Joelle) Blaxton and Frantz (Solange) Louis; 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the calling hours and funeral service are limited only to Marie's family members. Family members may visit on Friday, May 14th from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626. Marie's funeral service will take place in the same location at 11 AM followed by interment at Ascension Garden Cemetery.
