Mrs. Marilyn Wilcox entered into the presence of her Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Rochester, NY.
She was born Marilyn Jean Eaton on January 19, 1931, in Auburn, NY, to Florence E. (Cory) and J. Laurence Eaton, the third of four children. Marilyn graduated from Jordan High School in 1948. She was the salutatorian of her class. On August 31, 1949, Marilyn wed Ralph Morley (Mike) Wilcox. Children followed in 1951 and 1954. After Mike finished college, they resided in Camillus, and later in Elbridge. Following Mike's retirement, they moved to the Rochester area.
Marilyn provided a well organized and loving home environment for her family. She made sure the family made it to church on Sundays. Trained as a hairdresser, she was happy to cut and style hair for friends and family. Marilyn loved to collect music boxes and made great birthday cakes. When her children were older, she worked for a time as a nursery school teacher.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William Wilcox and Diana Slaughter, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gary Englebach, grandsons Isaac (Crystal) Wilcox and Jesse Wilcox, granddaughters Kristin (Mike) Gillis and Katie (John) Gentile, and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, George, Giovanni, Joey and Alana. Also surviving are her sister, Virginia Kinsman, and sister-in-law, Jean Eaton. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert L. Eaton and Kenneth L. Eaton.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
