GREECE-Marshall "Charlie" Burroughs, 92, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019.
Charlie was born in Rochester, NY on February 4, 1927 to the late Marshal and Gladys Burroughs. Charlie served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII, and after his military service he went on to work and retire from Eastman Kodak Co. On March 15 1947 he married the love of his life, Jean. They were married for 60 years before her passing in 2008. Together they raised three children. He will be remembered for his love of sports, especially baseball, table tennis, golf, and skiing. His passion in life was his family.
Charlie is predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean, his son, Gary Burroughs, his great-granddaughter, Sara Minni, and his sister, Arlene Weining.
He is survived by his children, Charles (Eileen) Burroughs, and Cheryl Bektas, his daughter-in-law, Cherie Burroughs, his grandchildren, Tina (Pat), Tricia (Donnie), Jason, Josh, Brandon (Jessica), and Corey (Samantha), his great-grandchildren, Erica, Danielle, Kylie, Melissa, Landon, Joseph, and Santino, and his brother, Vincent Burroughs.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 10:00am-12:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
