Marvin "Butch" Woodward, of Chili, NY, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ALS on Saturday, March 18th. He was 60.
Butch was a foster child and lived in many areas including Ontario, Irondequoit, and Chili. His foster journey settled him in Churchville with the O'Brien family. It is with the O'Brien family that Butch discovered his passion for classic muscle cars. This passion led to his gift of car restoration with his specialty being his beautiful paint work for which he was locally known. He felt that cars were the universal language and could strike up conversation with fellow enthusiasts at the drop of a wrench. In his later years, he rediscovered his childhood love of classic, American mini-bikes. For the past ten years he had been restoring and showing his mini-bikes at local auto shows, winning several top honors.
Butch was a wonderful husband to his wife of 25 years, Mary, and a loving father to his children, Abby and Adam.
The family would like to thank the many angels who walked with them throughout Butch's illness. In addition, they would like to thank
Dr. Wolff, Dr. Thorton, and the attending doctors and excellent nursing staff at Strong Memorial Hospital.
