GATES- Mary F. Flagler Bishopp, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in Rochester, NY on November 15, 1943 to the late Henry and Grace Flagler. On September 12, 1964 Mary married the love of her life, John A. Bishopp. They were married for over 50 years until his passing in 2017. Together they raised three children. She will be remembered for her love of gardening. She and her husband were charter members of Church Radiant in Chili, as well as being members of the Hosta Society and the Perennial Society.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, John A. Bishopp, and her brother, Stephen Flagler.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Suzanne) Bishopp, Laurie Morin, and Marjorie (Alan) Bouwens, her seven grandchildren, Douglas, John, Brett, Stephanie, Sam, Pearl, and Rachel, her great-grandson, Connor, and her sister, Anne Flagler.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
A celebration of life will be held at Church Radiant, 525 Paul Road, Rochester, NY 14624, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to the Rochester, Open Door Mission, 1834, 156 Plymouth Ave, Rochester, NY 14608, or to Church Radiant, 525 Paul Road, Chili, NY 14624.
