Irondequoit: Monday, April 14, 2008 at age 91. Predeceased by her husband, George J. Swarthout; and brother, Joseph P. Carberry. She is survived by her children, James (Marilyn) and Robert (Margaret) Swarthout, Susan (Harry) DeKing; sister-in-law, her best friend and traveling companion, Doris Carberry; grandchildren, Robert, Tamarah (Gustavo Serra) and Christopher Swarthout, Mark and Ryan DeKing; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah DeKing; several nieces & nephews. Mary was a Girl Scout leader and did volunteer work at the Irondequoit Library.
No prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her Memorial Service, Saturday, April 19th at 2 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Blossom Health Care Center, 989 Blossom Road, Rochester, New York 14610 or the Visiting Nurse Service (Hospice), 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580 in Mary's memory.
