Mattie L. Taylor was born to the union of Willie Gipson and Louise Gipson in Ideal Town Macon, GA on March 2, 1938. She relocated to Sanford, FL where she started her family. In the 1960's she moved her family north to Philadelphia then to Rochester, NY where she resided until she took her final rest on April 27, 2023.
She was a pastor of House of Prayer Ministries Church w/o Walls at 212 Webster Avenue, Rochester, NY 14609.
She leaves to mourn husband Jim C. Taylor, sons Oscar, Benjamin, Michael A. Gibson Sr., Ronald, Loring, Mark (Rachael) Howard, Sammy Fisher, Jim C. Taylor and Dale Taylor, daughters Patsy Okafor, Mia Howard, Tracy Butts, Sabrina (Paul) Smith and several grandchildren, great grandchilren, and a great-great grand child, several nieces., nephews, spiritual children, extended family, friends and church family.
Predeceased by parents Willie Gipson and Louise Gipson, brothers Willie James (Corrine) Gibson, Cleve (Marilyn) Gipson, Charles Gipson and Milton. Sister Margaret Louise (Albert) Edwards, children, Rita Hayes, Timothy Howard, Regina Rodriguez and Rhonda Howard.
Family will receive friends Friday May 5th from 4-7PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday May 6th at 11am at Power House Church. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield.
