The words that would best describe Maureens life would be laughter, love, kindness, empathy, compassion, and understanding.
Maureen was an intellectual with wild ideas and deep thoughts. At the age of 10 she was in her bedroom reading while her brother & sisters played outside in the tropical sunshine. She was a lover of live music. She saved the tickets for almost every concert she attended. She had a list of every one. 153 artists, some artist 2, 3 and 4 times. Her favorites genres were Rock, Punk, New Wave & Surf rock but she was not limited to just those genres.
Maureen attended Fredonia State University, Brockport State University, Bryant & Stratton business school. She even earned a certificate in bartending through P.M. Bartending. While she was earning a bachelor degree in English and a minor in religion at the University of Rochester she was a single parent bringing up her two teenage daughters while also working at the U of R. Maureen touched the lives and hearts of many. Her battle of cancer was brief and unexpected. Cancer was a black hole devouring the light of a star from our universe. Nothing will ever shine so brightly as Maureen.
Your death will not be in vain. We will pass down your memory. Make sure that your are never forgotten. We will plant you in the garden. In earth you will grow anew. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by all who knew her.
