Castile, NY. Left us to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2008 after a short illness. She was born in Buffalo, NY and was employed by Hanley & Hanley Law Offices in Perry, NY for may years; later she was elected as the Castile Town and Village Clerk for over 16 years. Predeceased by her brother, Archie L. Wemple. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Justice of NC and son, Leon B. of Holley, NY; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Melvena was a long time member of the Castile United Church of Church and a member and past matron of the Castile Order of the Eastern Star.
A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Private Interment. Memorials to the Castile United Church of Christ, 4 Washington Street, Castile, NY 14427 or Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 in her memory.
