Passed peacefully October 16, 2020 at the age of 92.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, George W. Smith.
Survived by her children, Susan (Jack Carter) Pillay, Richard (Eileen) & Joanne (Martin) Prince; grandchildren, Kelly (Joe Bellone) Hinett, Richard (Stella) Smith, Christopher Smith, Shannon (Jason) Carr, Stephanie (Anthony) Lodato & Brittany Prince; great grandchildren, Christopher, Jonny, Jackson & Charlotte; & many friends at Beatrice Place.
Merrilyn worked many years at Kodak in the Engineering department as a supervisor. Later becoming the Secretary for the Kodak Retiree group where she was responsible for their newsletter.
Merrilyn was a loving, compassionate person with a deep love for her family & friends. She was a devoted supporter of animal rights. Loved by all who knew her. Merrilyn enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.
Merrilyn & George traveled extensively after their retirement, with New England being their favorite fall destination.
Merrilyn was an active volunteer participating in many groups including: the American Legion Greece Post 468, The Greece Methodist Church, AARP, emergency food delivery, children's reading programs & many other programs.
Services will be held privately with a burial at Falls Cemetery.
