Monica Fischer, a cherished soul and beloved member of the Rochester community and the cherished owner of M’s Bar & Grill, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on May 23, 1965, in Rochester, New York, Monica’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a profound commitment to her family and friends.
Throughout her life, she radiated and kindness, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her True Love, Edward Fischer; her children: Kurt Melder, Kevin (Nycole Burns) Melder, and Kayla Melder. Monica’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brynn, Harlee, and Blaire Melder, who were the light of her life.
She was the proud daughter of Michael and Margaret Mastrella, a loving sister to Chelle Mastrella, and a respected sibling to her brothers, Michael and Marc Mastrella. Monica’s family ties were invaluable, with a nephew, Michael Wilko, numerous aunts and uncles, including Linda (Frank) Loos, Mickey (Ron) Ranalli, and Paul Mastrella; cousins, Brett Valletta and Joe Ranalli who each held a special place in her heart. In addition, she felt blessed to have the unwavering support of her mother-in-law, Sandy (Bob) Caskey.
Monica's life was also enriched by her circle of special friends—Donna, Barb, Colleen, and Stephanie—whose shared memories and laughter filled her days with joy.
Her passing marks a poignant moment for those who loved her deeply, but she leaves behind a profound legacy that will endure through the love she spread so generously. Monica is predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph and Carmella Natale, and Paul and Christine Mastrella, who welcomed her into eternal peace.
Visitation services will be held at the New Comer Funeral Home, Eastside, located at 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609, on October 14, 2024, from 3 PM to 7 PM, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 PM. All are invited to come and pay their respects, fostering a spirit of unity as we celebrate the remarkable life of a truly wonderful woman.
