Greece – Nancy (Bowles) Gerwitz was called home on Friday, March 16, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with Lymphoma. Born in Bath, NY on June 2, 1939 she was the daughter of Lyman and Evelyn (Finger) Bowles. Rooted deeply in her Faith, she was a loyal wife, nurturing mother to 11 children, and was the epitome of dignity and grace.
She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Bruce Bowles; son, Christopher (Julie) Gerwitz; and grandchild, Daniel (Paul F. & Debra) Gerwitz.
She is survived by her husband, Paul R. Gerwitz; children, Paul F. (Debra) Gerwitz, Gregory (Karen) Gerwitz, Deborah (James) Dudek, Mary (John) Gerwitz, Patrick (Lisa) Gerwitz, Matthew (Ellen) Gerwitz, Eric (Stacey) Gerwitz, Thomas (Peggy) Gerwitz, Philip (Janine) Gerwitz, and Sarah (Josh) Nielsen; siblings, Mary (Bowles) Conley, Jean (Bowles) Gradischer, and William (Marcia) Bowles; as well as 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 21 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 9am at St. John the Evangelist, 55 Martha Street, Spencerport, NY 14559, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
