Nancy Moultrie (Thomas)

Nancy Moultrie, affectionately known as "The Realist," departed this life after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, peacefully in her home.
Born Nancy Dean Thomas in Lake City, South Carolina to parents Murray and Annie Myrtle Thomas, she attended St. Mark and graduated high school in Kingstree, South Carolina. She moved to Rochester, New York in 1971, where she met and married David J. Moultrie (originally of Andrews, South Carolina). From this union, they were blessed with three children, two sons and a daughter, whom she referred to as her Prince, her Princess, and The Baby. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Annie Myrtle Thomas, and brothers, Glenn, Herb, and Dewitt Thomas. She is survived by her loving and supportive husband, David Moultrie; children Desmond (Alice) Moultrie, DaToya Moultrie, and Derschel (Danielle) Moultrie; grandchildren Deandre, Dallice, Davares, Deschain, and Delia Moultrie, A.J. El-Amin, Bahiri Mattiex, DyLonne McClary, Eric Crosby, and Vondrea Harris; two sisters Sherri Dukes and Vivian Nero; adoptive sister Jo-Ann Davis; sisters-in-law Rosa (Thomas) Dukes, Betty Thomas, Lily Ann (Josh) Gallant, Geneva (Marion) Brown, and Theresa Greene; brothers-in-law Walter Moultrie and Ben (Earnestine) Moultrie; uncles John Chapman (Benie) and Leroy Graham; aunt Mary-Ann A. Cooper; co-in-laws Delores and Felton Bernard, and Dave and Sue Baritot; close friends Pam Ervin, Ola Graves, Hattie (Jimmie) Burrows, and Nettie (Ducky) Henderson; many treasured extended family members and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, 10:30AM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609 and a brief service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
