Nola Estelle Schroer, 83, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at North Collier Hospital.
A long-time resident of Shorewood, MN and Fairport, NY, she had been a winter resident of Bonita Springs for the past 23 years, making it her permanent home last year. She had also lived in Arlington Heights, IL, Fairlawn, OH, and Wabash, IN. Nola was born November 17, 1932 in Dale County, AL a daughter of the late Reuben Warren and Lucy Ruth (McLean) Moring.
Nola was a much loved "Nana" to her four grandchildren. She enjoyed boating, swimming, fishing and reading with them. They loved shelling and playing on the beach with her as they grew up visiting Bonita Beach. She was a voracious reader from the time she was a little girl, often reading a book a day from the library. Nola loved to golf, garden, write and travel with her husband Jim and their dear friends. Her long walks on the beach were her special, peaceful times.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, James R. "Jim" Schroer; loving daughters, Kathryn Stein of Riverwoods, IL and Karen (Bradford) Templeton of Pittsford, NY; sister, Barbara (Jack) Thomas of Enterprise, AL; brother-in-law Ronald (Beverly) Schroer of Chanhassen, MN and cherished grandchildren, Kelsey (Brett) Holub-Keen, James Holub, Kassandra Stein and Douglas Templeton. She is also survived by her much loved puppy Emma.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534.
