Nora Cynthiacylinda Singleton Anderson

March 29, 1947 — July 10, 2022

Nora Cynthia Cylinda Singleton Anderson, loved to be called "granny" by her grandchildren and "Lute" by her family, she fell asleep in death on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Cylinda was born in Mullins, SC on March 29, 1947 to the late Freddie Singleton and Wilhelmina White Singleton.

Cylinda was married for 52 years to Alexander Anderson, she was mother to one child, Eldrie Anderson. She raised her child with love and devotion in Rochester, NY. and Georgetown, SC with her husband.

Cylinda graduated Valedictorian from St. Mark Elementary and High School, Kingstree, SC in 1965 where she played the clarinet and earned a college academic scholarship. She was a licensed LPN, she was known for her medical intellect and honest feedback. She was especially known for her whole-souled loyalty to Jehovah and she was proud of serving as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Cylinda was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Singleton and a Sister, Dr. Margaret Vereen; relatives instrumental in raising her: Robert and Bessie White and Joseph McCullough, and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Young.

Cylinda is survived by her husband, Alex Anderson; son, Eldrie Anderson of Rochester, NY; step-daughter, Wanda Johnson of Anderson, SC; four granddaughters, Jusmairi, Adriella, Zamora, and Yazmin Anderson, all of Rochester, NY. She is also survived by brothers and sisters: Freddie Singleton of Ridgeville, SC; Wilma Frazier; Mary Singleton Johnson (Jack); Thomas Singleton all of Rochester, NY; Pernerva Thomas (John) of Kingstree, SC; Joyce Carmen of Hillsboro, NJ; Barbara Davis (Bethel); Tasia Hudson (Cedric); Roderick McCullough; Ramona and Travoy McCullough all of Andrews, SC; sisters-in-law: Bernice Singleton of Andrews, SC; Margaret Anderson; Lottie Young; Beaulah Anderson; and Dr. Paula Anderson all of Georgetown County, SC; brothers-in-law: Clarence Vereen of NJ; Vincent Anderson (Carlotta) of Charleston, SC; and Quentin Anderson of Georgetown County, SC; and a relative who was instrumental in raising her: Mary W. McCullough of Andrews, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
