Gates: Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at age 78. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary (Elward); children, Douglas (Rita DeSantis) and Nancy (Jeffrey Allen); grandchildren, Jake and Dana Dennstedt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Dennstedt, Bernard and Ann Elward, Margaret Elward; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elsie (Odlund); brothers, Edward, Roland and Carl Dennstedt; sister, Lois Metherell; Norbert was a Korean War veteran and a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service.
Norbert's family wished to thank Dr. John Andolina and the staff at Unity Hospital, 3400 Unit for the wonderful care they provided Norbert and his family.
Family and friends may call Thursday, 4-8 P.M. at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 9:30 A.M. at St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Open Door Mission, 156 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester, NY 14608 in Norbert's memory.
