PATRICIA ANN MARCANO (UMHOFER)
Found peace and rest October 11, 2018
Predeceased by her parents Henry and Betty, and sister Gertrude DeCarlo.
Survived by her sons, Mark Umhofer (Jennifer) and Andres Marcano (Desiree), and sister Margo Umhofer, grandsons Brett Umhofer and Jacob Marcano, nieces and nephews (DeCarlo), aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, especially dear friends Adrienne Rosso and Laurie Wolfe.
Patty will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, helping everyone who crossed her path. Her family was her reason for living, having great pride in the men her sons turned out to be. Margo was not only a cherished sister but a best friend as well. Her grandsons were her pride and joy, the best gifts her sons ever gave her. She loved her pets, treating them like little furry people.
Retired from Laboratory Specimen Management at Strong Memorial Hospital, Patty leaves many friends in SMS as well as Chemistry and Hematology. She touched not only our hearts with her caring and but our funny bones with her outrageous stories and antics. No one can ever replace her.
The family is forever grateful to Patty's wonderful healthcare team: Dr. David Stornelli and Dr. Matthew Farrentino. She survived so much longer because of your never ending efforts to help her and the trust you built with her. She loved you both.
Patty closed out her life with another powerful team, her hospice group from Visiting Nurse. We are forever indebted to Marge Smith, social worker and porch buddy, Stacy Thompson, RN and Marianne Gocker, chaplain. Ladies, you knew her the shortest period of time yet gave her the gift no one else could: a safe and gentle transition from her pain and suffering to life everlasting.
Patty asked to be cremated, no services or memorial donations. We have been asked to modify that decision, so if you are inclined, we are sure she would approve donations to AutismUP and Lollypop Farm.
