Friday January 3, 2025

It is with profound sadness and admiration that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Patricia V. Robida (Pat, Patty, Tish, (not late for dinner))

Pat was born on her father’s birthday, June the first 1932. She was the second child to Harold & Verna Vogt, giving 7 year old Billy a baby sister.

Pat had a wonderful childhood, attending Geneva High School and making many friends, some of which she kept in contact throughout her life as they met regularly to catch up with each other's lives, most recently as last month.

Pat went on to Graduate from Cornell University, one of the many benefits, was a lifelong love affair with her beloved Big Red football team regardless of the constant source of angst. She also received her Bachelor of Arts degree.

While Pat and her girl friends volunteered to support the service men who were stationed at the nearby Sampson Air Force base, she met the love of her life Victor.

While they were dating, she was hired by the University of Rochester as a social worker, so off to the big city of Rochester to begin life’s adventures.

Pat and Vic were married in May of 1955, moved to Gates New York in 1957, and raised two sons, Steve and John.

Pat left the University to become a stay-at-home mom, den mother, taxi driver and chief bottle washer, she returned to the University after the boys began school where she remained for 35 years, retiring as the Manager of Medical Records Department.

Upon her retirement, she filled her time by working at H&R Block helping others with their taxes, and volunteered for the Association of the Blind transcribing material into braille. Pat also found herself as the caretaker to her beloved Victor until his passing in 2002.

With Vic’s passing, she was lost. Joining a grief support group, she met many new friends, took up traveling and enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, and Egypt to name a few. She also became an avid Bridge player, often taking first place at her weekly Bridge Club at Brooklea Country Club.

Pat was engaged throughout her entire life, she attended a family New Years Eve party and had a “delightful evening” Her passing 48 hours later was a shock to everyone.

It is very difficult to summarize a person’s life in a few short sentences. Pat led a full and rewarding life that provided her all the love and family she could dream of. To say she went out on her own terms would be a fair statement. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, A. Victor Robida. Brother, Harold (Carol) Vogt, Nephew John Nelson, Niece Cyndi Lachowski.

Survived by her sons, Steve (Karen), John (Charlene) Robida. Grandchildren, Kori (Jason) Stella, Thomas Robida, Lindzay (Branden) Robida, Kevin Robida.

6 great grandchildren, Reno, Vanessa, Nicholas, Dean, Quinn, and Kara. Nieces and nephews, Tom Nelson, Marla Vogt-Roberts, Tom Vogt, Bruce Robida, Carmen Applin, Charleen Carr, Dan Robida, Lisa Molter, Jennifer Mulkey, and close friends.
