Peter Black passed away peacefully on March 1st 2020 at Highland Hospital, Rochester. He leaves behind his loving wife Josephine of 44 years and his two children, Moira Black and Stepdaughter Debra Sigl.
Peter was born on July 4th 1932 in Airdrie, Scotland. He was the youngest of four children having three older sisters- May, Nancy and Jean. At the age of 16 he began his carpentry apprenticeship where he formed a lifetime friendship with John Henderson. He did 2 years of National Service spending this time in Egypt.
In 1963 he moved to Fairport, NY and was an employee of Lawyers Co-operative, Rochester until his retirement.
In 2001 Peter had extensive invasive surgery which resulted in numerous post-operative complications. He defied all medical odds to go on to live a full and active life. Peter was an exemplary example of a man full of strength and courage with a determination and zest for living.
In Peter's early life he enjoyed playing his accordion and being a member of a band and as life moved on he enjoyed the warm summer days playing golf and walking his beloved dogs.
In keeping with the wishes of Peter there will be no funeral service.
