March 31, 1929 — November 6, 2023
A devoted and beloved husband, father, and grandfather departed in peace on Monday, November 6, 2023 at age 94.
Peter enjoyed a long career at Rochester, Gas & Electric Corporation and retired from a managerial position after 35 years.
He enjoyed sports (especially baseball), travel, history, hunting and fishing, and shared his interests with his family and extended family with regular day trips and family vacations. A devoted father of six, he was very much involved in the interests of his children, helping to promote and support their individual pursuits and their families. He was an active member in his church community and served in many capacities including leadership. Following his retirement, he traveled widely with his wife and also devoted significant time to volunteer work within his local congregation and with a global organization that works to serve and to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in various countries throughout the world.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Josephine A. Wyse; daughter, Karen Tosti; daughter-in-law, Nereida Wyse.
Survived by his sons: Steven (Anna Grammenopoulos) Wyse of FL., Peter C. (Carmen Delia) Wyse, Joseph (Tina) Wyse; daughters: Susan Lane of NC and Deanne Rollo; son-in-law, Jerry Tosti, grandchildren: Katherine Tosti, Matthew (Veronica) Wyse, Katie (Mike) Pagano, Chris (Kerry) Lane, Mark (Amy) Lane, Tabitha Lane, Samantha (Thomas) Addison, Rebecca (Peter) Richard; many great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Friends will be received Sunday November 19th during visitation hours from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14616
