Phylis C. Kraft, a beloved and determined matriarch, passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 79. Born on November 8, 1944, Phylis lived a remarkable life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and an extraordinary spirit.
A testament to her strength, Phylis battled her illness longer than anyone believed possible, exhibiting resilience that inspired those around her. She was an unconditionally loving angel on earth, dedicated to putting others before herself. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her heart was always open to those in need.
Phylis had a passion for baking that brought joy to her family and friends, particularly during the holiday season when she became famous for her Christmas cookies and specialty baked goods. Her hands were not only skilled in the kitchen; she also found great joy in sewing and crafting, creating beautiful pieces that showcased her creativity. Additionally, she devoted her time and energy to helping others, embodying the spirit of generosity.
She is survived by her loving children, Ken (Christine) Kraft, Marilyn (Richard) Bolden, Paul Kraft, Jim (Dianna) McLean, Tommy McLean, Ronnie (Mary Jo) McLean, and Melissa Labrie. Phylis cherished her many grandchildren, including Anne, Michael, and David, to whom she imparted her wisdom and affection. Her loving extended family and her many wonderful friends will also remember her vibrant spirit and warm presence.
Phylis is preceded in death by her parents, Helen Vogelar and Paul Smith; her life partner, John McLean; and her husband, Kenneth Kraft. Their memories, along with her enduring legacy of love and compassion, will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave, in Rochester, on Saturday, October 19th, at 10:30 AM followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
