Rochester- Phyllis Powell Dodds, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Phyllis was born in Jamaica, VA to the late George and Eva Powell on April 13, 1933. Phyllis worked as a school teacher in Rhinebeck Central for 30 years.
Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, George and Eva and brother George (Jo).
She is survived by sisters, Shirley (Edward), Eve (Ron); children, Scott (Karen), Stephanie; grandchildren, Zach (Lori), Nicole (Travis), Taylor, Sarah, Elijah; great grandchildren Jayden, Khloe, Brandon, Daniel; long-time friends Flora and Pat; caregiver Rita Marie; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (https://www.mskcc.org/experience/living-beyond-cancer)
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a service to immediately follow.
