Phyllis G. Hartwigh, a radiant soul whose light touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 16, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on February 9, 1931, Phyllis was not only beautiful inside and out but also a giving and generous spirit whose motivation and drive inspired those around her. Her fine sense of style was matched only by her extraordinary heart.
A devoted family woman, Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, carried on by her cherished daughters, Judy (John) Wilcox and Gloria (Chuck) Boehm. Her love extended fiercely to her grandchildren: Christine (Michael) Hasselberg, Jason Wilcox, Tiffany (Bobby) Vazquez, Brian (Kelsey) Boehm, and Kaitlyn (Jacob) Lazio-Maimone. Each of them carries wonderful memories of her kindness, laughter, and support, along with a lineage of great-grandchildren, including Caiden, Grace, Connor, Mason, Olivia, Myles, and Eliana, who were blessed to feel her unconditional love and wisdom.
Phyllis is also survived by her brother, William (Linda) Andrews, and her brother-in-law, Frank Boccia, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins whose lives have been enriched by her presence.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alexander D. Hartwigh, and her daughter, Sharon M. Shatzel. Phyllis was one of two surviving children of her parents, Arlington and Grace Andrews, and she is mourned alongside her eight siblings who have also passed on.
As we remember Phyllis, we recall her kindness, her grace, and her undeniable ability to make the world a brighter place. She had a unique gift for nurturing those around her and will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit and love will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private Interment at Riverside Cemetery.
