Raymond was born on October 17, 1945 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Maudie and Raymond Hawkins Sr. The morning of March 5, 2022 Raymond was called home by the Lord with his loving wife by his side in Rochester, New York.
Raymond attended elementary school and Rochelle High School in Lakeland, FL. Raymond accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was a Cement Finisher for a number of years.
In 1967 Raymond moved to Rochester, NY where he met the love of his life, Sharon and on June 2, 1969 Raymond and Sharon became husband and wife. Raymond continued his career as a Cement Finisher and later took an early retirement in Rochester, NY. On October 4, 2000 Raymond became a member of the Aenon Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester, NY. He loved fishing, watching TV and ALL sports. Anyone who knew him knew he was a true die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren) in Lakeland, FL as well as spending time with his extended family and his two pet dogs in Rochester, NY. Raymond was not a stranger to anyone, he loved everyone, and everyone loved him.
Raymond is predeceased by his mother Maudie Belle Hawkins, father Raymond Kenneth Hawkins Sr., sister Patricia Brown and brother Vernon Tyrone Hawkins.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Sharon A. Hawkins of Rochester, NY; three daughters, Shernequa (Willie) Pace, Latoya Hawkins both of Lakeland, FL and Karla Hawkins of Winter Haven, FL; one son, Christopher (Patricia) Miller of Greenville, FL; one Godson, Princeton Williams of Rochester, NY; four sisters, Marilyn Griffin, Petronia (Rottice) Stancil, Jenny Silas and Patricia Silas all of Lakeland, FL; one sister in law, Janet Robinson of Rochester, NY; eleven grand children, Antwon (Candice) Denson of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Tabanika McGee of Ocala, FL, Willie (Nyesha) Pace Jr., Corey (Jackie) Pace, Cameron (Ashley) Pace, Shyana Pace, Shameka Pace, Antoinette Carter all of Lakeland, FL, Aaron Hawkins Jr., Kariah Hawkins, Caleb Hawkins all of Winter Haven, FL; forty-one great grand children; dear close friends, Clarence Williams, CJ Hill both of Lakeland, FL, John Hylton of St. Petersburg, FL, Jerome Taylor (Gee), Deb Bailey, Helen Miller and Nathaniel Smith all of Rochester, NY; two adorable pet dogs, Sable and Sophia along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14626, on March 15, 2022 from 4-7pm, with a service to immediately follow.
