Greece: Passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family May 1, 2008 at age 72. Predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Helen McKain; He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary (Northcote); children, Raymond (Vicky), Patrick (Jodi), Richard Jr. (Donna) McKain and Maureen (Matthew) VanLare; 9 loving grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Ian, Danielle, Ashley, Matthew, Abigail, Justin and Matthew; sisters, Joyce Wilson and Helen Foreman; brothers, Michael and Joseph (Sandy) McKain; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Dick was a Kodak retiree after 43 years of employment and a member of the American Legion Murrells Inlet Post 178, SC.
Family and friends may attend calling hours 2-6 PM Sunday at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be held 9 AM Monday at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942.
