Richard Augustine Mercendetti

Richard Augustine Mercendetti passed Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at age 68. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Edith Mercendetti. He is survived by his children, Rick (Tina) Mercendetti, Danielle (Anthony) Calderon, grandchildren; Nichole (Matthew Savage) Mercendetti, Alysha Mercendetti, Richard Mercendetti, Mea Calderon, Anthony Calderon, great grandchildren; Leo and Noah Savage, sisters; Frances (Russel) Guest, Mary (Carl) Ward, brothers; Carl (Valerie) Mercendetti, David Mercendetti and many nieces and nephews.

Rick was a United States Navy Veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

He was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in the 10th ward where he married his childhood sweetheart. While in the Navy he worked on the boilers of the USS Josephus- Daniels. Richard was a great and talented mechanic. He went on to own his own company, Rainmaster Irrigation, for many years. When he retired, he enjoyed working for the National Fire Safety Council. He loved good music, nice cars, cooking and riding his Harley Davidson. Rick was always willing to help others, whether it was giving someone a job, helping with sobriety or just being a friend. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 27th from 1pm to 5pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals 2636 Ridgeway Avenue where a funeral service will follow calling hours at 5pm.
