Richard "Rich" Balmer Jr.

Passed away on, March 20, 2025 at the age of 77.

Predeceased by his parents Richard Sr. & Leah (Knott) Balmer. sister, Belle.

He is survived by his Loving Wife of 53 years, Bonnie Balmer; daughter Heather Kiessel (Elmer); son Richard Balmer, III; grandson, Holden Kiessel; brothers, James "Jim" ,Walter "Walt"; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rich Balmer Jr. entered into heaven with his wife and children by his side at home. He had just celebrated his 77th birthday with family. He courageously battled Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He is now free and at peace with the Lord. Rich was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up on Long Island before moving to Rochester during his high school years. He graduated from Churchville-Chili then joined the United States Army serving his country for 4 years. His love for pottery started as a child playing in the mud and he continued this journey at The School for the American Craftsman at RIT. He also mentored people with disabilities through art therapy using his craft. He and his wife traveled around WNY, selling his wares in various craft shows. He dedicated each piece to the Lord. Each summer he spent camping or spending the day at Stony Brook State Park with family. As a part of his Parkinson’s therapy, he thoroughly enjoyed riding horses at the Equicenter in Honeoye Falls where they also provided cooking and gardening classes with fellow veterans which he attended. He was very active in the church throughout his life.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday March 25,2025 from 5-8 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard.

Services will be held 10Am Wednesday March 26, 2025 at Webster Bible Church 675 Holt Rd Webster, N.Y. Interment at With Military Honors at Webster Rural Cemetery, 1087 Ridge Rd. Webster, N.Y.
