Passed away on July 30, 2024 at the age of 85.
Predeceased by his parents, Richard Burton Sheffer & Doris Brooks.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Lise Penders; son, Skipper Sheffer; grandchildren, Brendan Penders, Ashley Kaiser, Richard Sheffer, Elayne Sheffer, Ashley Sheffer, Marion Sheffer, & Isaac Cole; great grandchildren; Levi Sheffer & Marcellus Holmes; nieces & nephews, Harlon Goodman, Richard Miller, Sondra Nunez, Carol Miller, & Dora Roderick.
Richard was lovingly known by his family as "Papa Smurf." He was a big fan of classic cars and owned a 55' Bel Air that he cherished.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 7th from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7pm.
