Skyer, Richard S. Jr.
Born Richard Stanley Skierkiewicz, Jr. from Chicago, IL., died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005 at age 50, after battling a long illness (Neurofibromatosis Type 2) died a champion fighter to the very end and won many people's admiration for his courage, stamina and tenacity. Devoted and loving father of daughter, Melissa D. Skyer and son, Michael E. Skyer. Married to his soul-mate, Solange "Sally" (Sevigny) Skyer for 25 years. He is also survived by his father, Richard S. Skyer, Sr.; step-mother, Grayce; brother, Michael A. ; and half-brother, Timothy; half sisters, Elaina and Tara. Predeceased by his mother, Agnes Shaunessey and sisters, Kathleen, Maureen and Mary; several nieces and nephews. Richard was a member of the National ALDA (Association for Late Deafened Adults) and past Rochester ALDA President.
Family and friends may call Sunday 3-7 at the New Comer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Private Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, So. Bellingham, MA.
