Rita Jean Merkley
July 22, 1920 — February 12, 2020
Passed peacefully February 12, 2020 at the age of 99 & seven months.
Predeceased by her husband, Ronald Merkley; sons, Donald Merkley & David Merkley; & five siblings; son in law, Salvatore Tantillo.
Survived by her children, Maureen Tantillo, Karl (Angela) Merkley, & Steven Merkley; grandchildren, Tracy (Michelle) Merkley, Christopher Grecco, Robert Merkley, & Eric Binn; sister in law Sheila Cashion; great-grandchildren, Kayla Speck, Maia Caruso, Skylar Merkley, Natalie Rector, Emma Binn, & Presley Binn; & many nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
Rita was born in Canada & was always proud of her homeland. She could see the silver lining in any situation. She had a big heart & a big smile, she was loving & caring to all she knew.
Services will be Friday February 21, 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Burial will be the following day at 10am at the Lake avenue entrance of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Lollypop Farms in her honor.
