Robert William Conley

Bob Conley passed away at the age of 87, on July 13, 2024. Bob was born to Frank and Mary Ruth Conley (Derbyshire), the third oldest of nine children. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Frank, Beverly, Richard (Dick), George and Thomas and is survived by siblings Sandy, Edward (Kevin) and Tim. Bob attended Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY where he met his high school sweetheart, Arlene Fifield. The two were married in 1956, had four children, 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Bob and Arlene enjoyed 33 years filled with laughter, entertaining and playing many rounds of golf together.

In 1996 Bob married Patricia Sanford, a longtime friend and fellow golfer. The couple settled in Calabash, NC where they lived until 2023. Bob was predeceased by first wife, Arlene, son Lawrence and grandson Shawn. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, son Scott (Amy), daughters Mary Beth Barnatones (Bruce) and Kristin Ferriter (Matt), stepson David Sanford (Sue) and stepdaughter Patricia Boccuzzi (Ted).

Bob was a long-time employee of New York State. He graduated from the U of R. Prior to his retirement, Bob’s work involved mental health facilities across NY including the Rochester Psychiatric Center.

Bob loved golf, whether playing, or watching from the comfort of his recliner. He also enjoyed playing cards, bird watching and tinkering around the house and yard. He was a long-time member of Wildwood Country Club in Rush NY. At the time of his death, Bob was a member of the Calabash, NC American Legion and the Calabash Elks.

Family will receive friends from Saturday, July, 27 from 10-11:30AM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:30AM.
