Passed away peacefully at home in his sleep November 19, 2018 at the age of 75.
Predeceased by his first wife, of 43 years, Sharon Young O'Connor; second wife, Dorothy Orinick O'Connor; and his parents, Robert and Marion O'Connor.
Survived by his wife, of 10 years, Barbara O'Connor; children, Christine Weathers, Danette (Anthony) DePetrillo, Aaron O'Connor, Janette (Crockett) Button, Elizabeth (David) Jones, Christina Ortiz; grandchildren, Alyshia Barret, Blessing Vislich, Alex DePetrillo, Tenley O'Connor, Amelyah O'Connor, John (Katherine) Button, Ryan Button, Kirstyn Button, Chalece Holland, Anissah (David) Vargas, Kyhe Holland, Brianna Faison, Alexis Ortiz, Jadon Faison, Alysah Faison, Gabrielle Robinson, and Justin Robinson; great grandchildren, Jonathon Hahnl, Gabriel Hahnl, Noel Vargas, David-Ezra Vargas, and Kyden Kim; siblings, June (John) Kimbell and Paul O'Connor; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a large church family.
Originally from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Robert was retired from the Teamsters and spent 20 years as a prison guard at the Maine State Prison. He was an ordained minister for 42 years. He was the director of Leadership International and traveled extensively encouraging ministry leaders all over the world. Being born in New England Robert was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed watching golf. Robert also served on a submarine during his service in the Navy. He loved and was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service in his honor will be held Friday, November 23, 7pm, at the Christian Center Church of Brockport, 4617 Lake Road South.
