Gates: She was born in Filadelfia, Calabria Italy. Passed peacefully Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at age 82 with her loving family at her side. Predeceased by her husband, Giovanni; parents, Salvatore and Marianna Mirarchi; brothers, Raffaele Mirarchi and Giuseppe Mirarchi; and sister, Alda Mosca. She is survived by her very loving daughters and son-in-law, Anne Marie Conestabile Of Ocean City, MD, Antoinette and Daniel Nazar of Gates and Rita Conestabile of Brockport; beloved grandchildren, Jason M. D'Amore, Douglas R. Balch, Brian J. Balch, John C. Balch, Michael J. Balch, Daniel A. Nazar, Max E. Peck, Sean L. Peck and Rachel E. Peck; sister, Rita Mirarchi of Italy; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces & nephews.
Romana worked and retired as a seamstress from Hiickey Freeman and in her younger years was a 3rd Order Franciscan Catechist in Italy. Romana's life and legacy touches the hearts and lives of many and will go on forever.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, November 16th, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Romana's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 9:30 AM at St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Maria Assunta Church, Staletti' (CZ) Italy, 10614 Point Lookout, Ocean City, MD 21842 C/O Anne Marie Conestablile and the family will forward any donations to the church directly.
