Rochester: Thursday, October 8, 2009 at age 52. Predeceased by his father, Sammy James. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dianne "D"; daughter, Regina James of Green Bay, WI; son, Shamar James of Memphis, TN; mother, Aretha James of Memphis, TN; 4 grandchildren; brother, Terrell (Christine) James; sister, Carolyn Crutchfield; sister-in-law, Carol (Michael) Cuomo; god-mother, Betty Daniels; special loved ones, Ann Smith, Donar Griffin and Nick Sewell; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children.
RJ was an ever present figure as a Community Activist. A loving, compassionate and caring employee of DePaul Children's Center and State of New York Office of Children's Family Service at Oatka. He was also a House Manager at Geva Theatre and dedicated employee of Sleep Insights.
No prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his Memorial Service, Saturday, October 17th, 11 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Good Days and Special Times, 1332 Pittsford-Mendon Road, Mendon, NY 14506.
