Rochester
Roy was born March 15, 1943 in Raeford, North Carolina to the late Alberta Davis Anderson and moved to Rochester when he was a teenager.
Roy was the Rhino man. He spent many years with the Rochester Traveler's Bowling League and had nothing but love for ya! You could not mistake his laugh and knew when he entered the alley. He had a way of making an impression on everyone he met and will not soon be forgotten.
Roy was a very driven man. He loved his work beginning with Vans Machine Shop and concluding with his time as a City School Bus Driver. He loved working with the children and deciding to retire was one of the hardest decisions of his life. Roy was very talented and determined. He taught himself how to read and write, he taught himself how to work on every vehicle he could get his hands on and encouraged his children to learn as much as possible.
Roy was a very loving father, husband, and best known as Grandpa adored by his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his prime. He loved to entertain his friends and family. Roy could always be counted on to host the best pig roasts and invite everyone in the neighborhood! In recent years, he enjoyed his wine and relaxing at home.
Roy is predeceased by his mother Alberta, his father LeRoy, his brothers, Willie James, Oscar, Charles, TK, Eric, and his grandson, Collin. Roy departed this life after 77 years on Monday, May 4, 2020, leaving behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife Priscilla; his children Rasheida (Lisa), Joan (Eric), Joe (Melissa), Rachel (DJ), Lizzie(Peter); his grandchildren Aaliyah, Justin, Mary Rose, Michael, Aiden, Madison, Eloise, Caldan, Ruby; his siblings Mary Alice, Christine (Fred), Curtis, and Kenny; step father, Luther Anderson, and a host of friends, family, nieces, and nephews.
Our family thanks you all for your continued love and support during these tough times. We got nothin' but love for ya!
