ROCHESTER- Sam J. DeCaro, 104, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Sam was born in Tunis, Tunisia, on February 4, 1918 to the late Giovanni and Rosa DiCaro. Sam immigrated to the United States when he was three years old. He served his country honorably during WWII in Patton's Third Army. In 1942 Sam married the love of his life, Fannie. They were married for 75 years and together they raised four daughters. He was a self-employed master carpenter for over 50 years.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Fannie, his granddaughter, Sheri Ann, and his siblings, Rosalie, Josephine, Millie, and John.
He is survived by his children, Jeanne (Sam) Trapani, Judi O'Brien, Rosemary (Bernie) Fox, and Susan (David) Baker, his grandchildren, Marc, Michael, Jodi, Jennifer, Katie, Jamison, Tyler, Erika, and Sydney, his 13 great-grandchildren, and his 4 great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5pm-7pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd, Rochester, NY 14606, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 9:30am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
