Sharon E. Curley, 78, of Greece, formerly of Spencerport, died peacefully at Unity Hospital on February 20, 2025, following an extended illness, with loved ones by her side. Born on February 17, 1947 in Utica, New York, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Norma (O’Connor) Curley. She graduated from Mohawk Community College in 1966. After starting her career at General Electric in Utica, she thereafter worked at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester. She retired from Kodak in 2006 after 36 years of exemplary and dedicated service.
Sharon was predeceased by her loving parents, older sister Joyce Kenefick and sister-in-law Joyce Curley. She is survived by her devoted best friend and life partner for the past 48 years, Mary Ellen Lissow; her three siblings, James Curley, Barbara Carparelli (Ray) and Suzanne Lehmann (John); and brother-in-law John Kenefick. She is also survived by a legion of heartbroken nieces, nephews and cousins (and their spouses and children), as well as the entire Lissow family.
Sharon was known for her quiet and thoughtful demeanor, keen sense of humor and unwavering devotion to her family and close circle of friends and neighbors. She only raised her voice while rooting for the Buffalo Bills. She and Mary Ellen rarely missed family functions and milestones, such as weddings, baptisms and birthday parties. They also enjoyed many travel adventures together over the years, including trips to many National Parks throughout the United States. Sharon particularly cherished returning to Utica to spend holidays with her sisters Suzanne and Barb. She was known to enjoy a nice cold beer and, on occasion and when prodded by certain family members, an Irish car bomb.
