Shawn M. Carey - Sadly on August 31, 2019 at the age of 36 after a 5 year courageous battle with brain cancer.
Predeceased by his father, Richard Carey; grandparents, Don & Doris Carey; uncle, Ron Carey; great aunt, Jane Rebock; brother-in-law, Dennis Scott Spencer Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Karen and step-father, Robert Reisinger; sister, Jennifer Carey; brother, Brian Carey; nephew, Dennis Scott Spencer III; grandmother, Louise Jacobs; great aunts, Betty Kizer and Aileen Andrews; aunts; Mary Beth and Bart Dambra and Karen Carey; many extended family members, including, step grandparents, John and Judy Reisinger; JJ and Marie Reisinger, Danny and Erin Reisinger, Greg Reisinger, Andrea (Sylvia) Terpestra, Bridget Reisinger, Jamie Vandoren. His inherited family from his nephew, the Spencers; several cousins and friends.
Shawn was a kind, loving person who would help other people first instead of himself. He loved music, fishing, and spending time with family. He will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to his aide Bonita from Maxium Home Care. She loved Shawn and took such good care of him and also Shamika from Strong Home Care for her compassionate care.
Family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday, September 9, 2019 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. His Graveside Service will immediately follow at Westside Cemetery, 60 Stryker Road.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any Brain Cancer research to find a cure.
