Rochester: Passed away on April 30, 2017 after battling a brief illness. She passed with her loving husband of 37 years by her side.
Shelley grew up in Rochester N.Y. and graduated from the East High School in the class of 1972 and danced under the direction of Ms. Olive McCue with the Mercury Ballet. She then attended the University of Bridgeport where she studied dental hygiene. After graduation, she practiced with a passion for treating children with special needs. After leaving the dental field, she embarked on a 35-year career with Sibley's and later Macy's in human resources.
Shelley's greatest joy in life was following and supporting her daughter's own dance career. Shelley could not have been prouder of Jordan's accomplishments and her decision to follow in her own footsteps as a member of the Rochester City Ballet and most recently as a cast member of the Cirque du Soleil The Beatles "Love". Shelley will eternally be in the front row for all of Jordan's performances. Shelley was also very proud of her son's decision to serve as a police officer and later with the United States Secret Service as a Special Agent.
Shelley will be remembered as a loving mother and wife whose whole world was her family.
She is survived by her loving husband Kevin, two children, Jordan and Garrett, and her beloved dog, Herbie.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, Louis and Harriet Weinstein and her brother the Hon. Jason Worth.
A remembrance of Shelley's life will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11:00am in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park.
