Sherrann Jean Whiting

On august 24, 1951 in Forest City, Florida one of God's greatest blessings, Sherrann Gaines Whiting, was welcomed into this world to her mother, Mabel Gaines Butler, whom was her only child. Sherrann grew up in the Orlando area during her younger years. She moved to Rochester, NY in 1975, where she has resided for more than 46 years. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She married Bob Whiting who transition to heaven and he became the Step-Father to her three daughters, Barbara Gaston, Wanda Mobley & Nicole Sims.

She never knew a stranger, if you met her you had a friend indeed. She devoted her life to helping others. She worked at the Bethany House, a shelter for battered women for many years. She also worked with Foodlink to distribute food and clothing to those in need.

Sherrann was blessed with three children, Barbara (Ronald) Gaston of Rochester, Wanda Mobley of Sanford, Fl., and Nicole Sims of Rochester, NY. With God having other plans for Sherrann and her three girls, she was later blessed with three grandchildren, Jasmine Sims of Orlando, Fl., Troy Mobley of Daytona Beach, Fl., and Chardonnay Robinson of Rochester, NY. God also blessed her with two amazing great grandchildren, Amarii Sims and Jordan Sims both of Orlando, Fl. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Sherrann left this world to go into the heavenly world to reunite with her loved ones that have gone on before her. Her beautiful smile, words of encouragement, prayers, hugs, kisses, wisdom, helping hands and generous love will truly be missed.
