May 13, 1949 — December 24, 2023
Passed peacefully after a long battle with MDS, December 24, 2023 at the age of 74.
Predeceased by her parents, John & Carol Pommerening.
Survived by loving husband of 34 years, Norman Brookes; children, Michele (David Neil) Adams, Denise (John Eacott) Voisey, Wayne Brookes, & Debbie (Adrian Chrobok) Brookes; grandchildren, Hayden Neil, Lauren Neil, Dylan Neil, Brooke Neil, Dr. Anika (Tyler) Rodgers, Aaron Eacott, Vanessa Brookes, Jackson Brookes, Jordan Chrobok, & Reece Chrobok; great grandchildren, Noah Rodgers, Liam Rodgers, & Jude Rodgers; siblings, Ronald (Elaine) Pommerening, Douglas Pommerening, Michael Pommerening, & Joanne (Michael) O'Connor; many nieces, nephews, other family, & friends.
Shirley was very involved in Spirtus Christi Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, & sister. She was active with her friends in many different activities.
Calling hours will be January 12, 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. Funeral Mass will be the following day at 10am Spiritus Christi Church, 121 Fitzhugh St N. Interment is at a later date at St Vincent Cemetery, Churchville, NY.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in her honor to The American Cancer Society.
