Rochester: Passed March 23, 2009 surrounded by a loving family, after a courageous 7 year battle with cancer at age 30. Predeceased by her father, George H. Slade; grandmother, Cordelia "Rose" Slade; and great-grandmother, Sarah K. Cowan. She is survived by her children, Jordan and Jai Rivera; mother, Cheryl Thompson; brother, George O. Thompson III; special aunts, Denitras Carter, Tracey Mitchell and Alisa (Darrell) Appleberry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the 1200 Unit staff for their loving care.
Family and friends may attend calling hours 4-8 PM Thursday at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. A Celebration of Life will be held 12 noon Friday at the Church of Love Faith Chapel, 700 Exchange St., Rochester. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
