Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at age 91. Predeceased by her husband, Victor and daughter, Virginia Schmitt. She is survived by her son, Steve (Susan) Piecuch; grandchildren, Stephen (Marybeth) Piecuch, Wendy (Jason) Woodard, Jeffrey (Terri) Schmitt and Lorraine (Ross) Stevens; son-in-law, Charles Schmitt; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Basamania; brother, Felix (Jackie) Juda; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Sophie was active in many volunteer organizations.
Family and friends may call Monday, November 27th, 4-8 at the New Comer Family Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 AM at Holy Rosary Church. Inurnment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 South Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14623.
