Rochester: Peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness at age 93. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Charles; daughters, Charlene Bowen, Mary Ellen (Paul) Goverts; grandchildren, Paul (Claire) Goverts IV, Kevin Bowen, Melanie Bowen, Heather Goverts and several nieces and nephews.
Sophie's family would to extend their sincere gratitude to the Staff of Kirk Haven Nursing Home, 3rd floor for the wonderful care give to Sophie.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 13th from 4-7 P.M. at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1124 Hudson Ave. Entombment Riverside Cemetery. Memorials contributions may be directed to Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester Inc., 840 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.
