Suzanne Conlogue

Rochester

Suzanne “Sue” beloved wife, mother, partner, friend and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her daughter Colleen Maher, stepson Joseph Conlogue; brothers Francis Skelly, Lee Skelly, Ed Skelly, Raymond Skelly, Les Skelly and Earl Skelly; sisters Mary Tremor, Margaret Herbst, and Helan Carr. She is survived by her loving husband Brian Conlogue; children, Scott (Belinda) Maher, Marilyn (Michael) Bader, Sara (Michael) Tuccio; Grandchildren Andrew Maher, Christine Maher, Jacob (Gabriel) Bader, Meagan Bader, Noah Bader, Jack Tuccio and Molly Tuccio; brother Paul Skelly, sister, Elizabeth Skelly, sister-in-law Jean Skelly; many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Sue grew up the youngest of 12 in Rochester’s 19th Ward. She attended St. Monica’s School and Nazareth Academy to become a “Lady of Nazareth.” Sue was never one to be idle. She valued her family, friends and her career. 

Sue’s career began first as a Catholic grade schoolteacher, followed by working briefly for Kodak. However, she found her true calling working in Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Insurance. Sue career in the insurance industry continued for almost 60 years where she worked in marketing, as an underwriter and as a manager. In 1984 got her Charter Property Casualty Underwriter [CPCU] designation and served as the Rochester Chapter’s President. In 2007 she was chosen as Insurance Professional of the Year. After retiring, Sue and Brian started their own consulting firm. She was very active servicing clients until about 2022 but continued to offer assistance.

When Sue was not working, she was a dedicated mom, wife, grandmother, aunt and friend. She always put her family first. Sue was known for being a very generous person and always willing to lend a hand or an ear. She was known for being very active, exercising daily to workout videos, going for “power walks and swimming. She took pride in her family and especially enjoyed being a grandmother. Holidays and birthdays were a priority for her. Her favorite was Christmas, where she made sure everyone was spoiled and the family gathered together to celebrate at her house.

The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Hospital’s 4th floor ALC unit and Monroe Community Hospital for their compassionate care provided to Sue over the past several months. 

A celebration of life will be held at Spiritus Christi Church, 121 N. Fitzhugh St., Rochester, NY 14614 on April 11, 2025 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center ; The School of the Holy Childhood or an organization of your choice.
