Thearthur Jones

Mr. Thearthur (Tee) Jones was born on November 7, 1943, to the late Katherine Williams and Jesse Jones in Hazelhurst, GA. Thearthur later relocated to Rochester, NY in his teenage years where he was an exceptional Barber and cut hair for the community for over 50 years. During his time in Rochester, he enjoyed playing tennis, the flute and singing with his beloved group called the Four Wisemen. He also loved to play cards and had a strong love for Cadillac cars. He was a member of the Muslim community until his health started to fail. 

Tee departed his life on August 10, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents, son Lamont Barton and his two brothers Samuel and Marshall Jones. Tee leaves to cherish his memory his longtime companion, Rose Beckley, his brother Jimmy Jones and his children Richard Jones, Anita (Caleb) Bell, Tedisha Baker, Kisha Stubbs, Theauther Grimes, Cole Bryant, Rosalind and Montez Jones, Ali Rasheed and Wali Jones; Rose’s children Brenda, Anthony and Howard Beckley.

Grandchildren: Dionna Finley, Khadijah Cathey, Lamont Barton, Jr., Lataren Barton, Latisha Barton, Lashanda Barton, Latrice, Carsha Owens, Christian Baker, Commen Richardson, Anthony Moore, James Bogan, Aliaa and Alijah Jones and a host of other Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and loved ones.

I keep hearing the voice that says grieve not for me

 Remember the best times, the laughter, the song

The good life I loved was strong

Continue my heritage I’m counting on you

Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through

 My mind is at ease, my soul I at rest

Remembering how I was truly blessed

Continue traditions no matter how small the falls

I miss you all dearly so keep your chin up

until the day comes when we all see each other again

Family will receive friends 10-12 noon Saturday August 31, 2024 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. 6 Empire Blvd. (next to Donut's Delight. A memorial service will commence promptly at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home.
