Thomas Detro passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, after a life well-lived. Born on December 24, 1958, he entered this world with a twinkle in his eye and a knack for spreading joy.
Predeceased by his parents Richard Detro (Father) and Damaris Detro (Mother) and brother, John Detro. Thomas was a devoted family man, leaving behind five incredible children who carry on his legacy. William Kelly, with his lovely spouse Melissa Kelly, Joshua Detro and his adoring wife Haleigh Detro, Megan Detro, Joseph Detro alongside his devoted spouse Samantha Detro, and John Detro. Thomas also leaves behind his sisters, Laury Detro and Mary Detro; his first wife, Katrina Detro-Rex and second wife, Lisa Detro.
A doting grandfather, Thomas took pride in his nine grandchildren, who brought him endless laughter and love. Drawing them into his world with tales of his own youthful escapades and sharing in their curiosity and innocence, he created cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Thomas was a true enthusiast of life and had a passion for good humor and hearty laughter. His infectious smile lit up every room, and his sense of humor could brighten even the grayest of days. He could effortlessly lighten the mood and put a smile on the faces of all who knew him.
Thomas was a true ally to all. With an open heart and a listening ear, he offered a safe space for others to turn to in times of need. Whether it was words of wisdom or a simple shoulder to lean on, he was always there to support his loved ones through life's ups and downs.
Although he is no longer physically with us, Thomas will forever be remembered as a beacon of light and laughter in our lives. May his spirit live on in the countless memories we shared, reminding us to approach life with a lighthearted perspective and a genuine love for all.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August, 30th 3-7PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626.
