Thomas E. Ouimet, age 71, of Webster NY passed away on November 19, 2023 after battling a progressive and debilitating neuromuscular disorder. While his condition made it increasingly difficult for him to give hugs, he never tired of receiving them.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Janet Ouimet; daughters Lea (Jim) DeMaio, and Sarah (Brian) Thomas, sons Christopher (Rachel) Ouimet, and Eric (Chelsea) Ouimet. He was a proud grandparent of Gennaro, Dominic, Julia, Nicholas, Emma, Shannon, Savannah, Ruby, Parker and Micah. His grandchildren were the light of his life and his greatest legacy. Also mourning his passing are Tom's siblings Christy (Tom) Jagla, Mike (Sherry) Ouimet, Debbie (Tom) Coonan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents Ann and Edward Ouimet.
Tom enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching football. He was an avid Bills fan, which often too seemed to be a progressive and debilitating condition. After retiring from Kodak, he could frequently be seen cruising to the lakeshore with loved ones for ice cream in his vintage blue Corvette. Tom was excitable when it came to bridge and euchre, but laid-back and relaxed when out fishing with dad on the St. Lawrence River. A devoted Catholic parishioner, he was also a member of The Holy Trinity Council of the Knights of Columbus. But more than anything else, Tom cherished attending his grandchildren's sporting events, plays, recitals, and school functions. His smile was never as big as when he was surrounded by his precious grandchildren.
Although our hearts are heavy, and he will forever be missed, we are eternally grateful to have had him been a part of our lives.
Services will be held at Saint Joseph Church in Penfield on November 25th, at 10:30 am. Luncheon to immediately follow.
