Predeceased by his late wife Michele A List.
Survived by his loving wife Denise (Peck), father William (Beverly) List, mother Marilynn Nilsson, children William List and Rebecca (Luke) Johnson. Step-children Kayla Peterman, Barbara Peterman, and Aaron Peterman. Grandchildren Christopher (CJ), Joseph, Tucker, and Cora. Brother Kenneth List, sister Ann List, step-brother Matt (Christine) James, step-sister Kathy Hall. Sister in-law Marie Schultz, father in-law Harold Peck. In-laws Marylou (Michael) Trice, Michael (Michele) Schnoor, and Mark (Christina) Schnoor. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Tim passionately served and protected the community. His Law enforcement career spanned 38 years. His career began in 1984 as a Monroe County Sheriff Deputy assigned to the Jail Bureau. From 1986-2017 Tim worked for the Rochester Police Department. His assignments there included the tactical unit, narcotics unit, and SWAT. Tim retired from RPD as a Commander of the Patrol Division. Most recently, Tim worked with the Monroe County District Attorney as a Violent Crimes Investigator. He also served on many boards and committees for public safety, homelessness and health including as a member of the Jordan Health Foundation Board.
Tim enjoyed coaching and playing most sports; especially soccer and hockey. He attended Hilton United Methodist church and enjoyed spending his summers with his extended camp family at Sun Valley Campgrounds. Tim also loved spending time with his family, and especially loved spending time and rough housing with his Grandsons CJ and Joseph.
Friends may call 1-4, 6-8 pm Sunday October 23, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 158 East Ave, Hilton, NY 14468. Funeral services will be held Monday morning in the church sanctuary at 10 am. Interment Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center, 82 Holland St, Rochester, NY 14605 or to a hospice of choice in memory of Tim.
