Vilma Edna Wolf , 84, died early on Easter morning, April 17, 2022. She was born in New York City to Grace and Joseph Kish who both preceded her in death. Vilma married Robert Wolf at age 19 and they started their family the next year when they were both 20 years old.
Vilma was the ultimate Homemaker. She had 5 children in 7 years so she was a busy and dedicated Mom. She was a wonderful baker and a skilled seamstress making many clothes for her young family. She could knit, crochet, and garden. She cooked innumerable delicious meals and her big turkey dinners were always sure to satisfy her large growing family as the grandchildren started arriving. Vilma was a sweet and supportive person, ready to step in and help however she could.
Vilma and Bob were married for 55 years. They spent their retirement mainly in Whitehall, NY with winters in Tampa, Florida, She enjoyed camping and cruising but mainly spending time with family and friends. For the past 9 years she has struggled with Alzheimer's disease so we as a family have said a long goodbye. We miss Mom and love her.
Vilma was a Christian for her whole life and she is now with her LORD Jesus. She died Easter morning as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus and the promise of eternal life with Christ.
Vilma is survived by her 5 children: Pamela (Jeffrey) Thiemann, Karen (Mark) Towne, Alfred (Prema) Wolf, Rachael (Joseph) Lestingi, and Susan (Mason) Alexander, as well as her sister Jacqui, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held later this summer in honor of Vilma's life.
Contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17 Chicago IL 60601 to work towards finding treatment and a cure for this debilitating disease.
